Student Achievement Grant
Clover LEAF’s Student Achievement Grant is established for a specific, one-time, short-term purpose or activity. The goal is to assist students in pursuing opportunities that will enhance their overall individual learning. Students may apply for a grant of up to $2000 to help cover the costs associated with educational experiences for which the student has been nominated or qualified.
Applicant Eligibility:
Students in grades 5 through 12 enrolled in the Clover School District
Seniors must meet one or both of the following criteria:
Be students enrolled in the Clover School District and in good standing or
Have graduated during the most recent graduation cycle and must complete the activity prior to July 31 following their graduation.
Eligible Activities
Activities must enhance an applicant’s total learning experience and may include:
academic or leadership seminars
competitions
workshops
Activities will represent the Clover School District at Regional (defined as multi- state), National or International Competitions.
The purpose of the activity will not conflict with the expectations or policies of CLOVER LEAF, the Clover School District, and may not be political or religious in nature.
Allowable Expenses
Funding will be limited to payment for:
registration/entry fees
transportation
lodging costs.
Examples of Ineligible expenses include:
Dual credit classes
College tuition,
Ongoing lessons/classes
Hobbies
Application Process
Parent/Guardian permission is required for all grant applications.
Each applicant will be required to have an educator in their school as a Mentor/ Sponsor for the application process and activity.
Students are encouraged to complete their own applications but may ask for the support and guidance of a mentor.
The Mentor/Sponsor will be responsible for submitting the completed application for the student via email to the Vice President of Grants.
The CLOVER LEAF Student Achievement Grant must not be the sole funding for the event. Students and/or students' parents must also seek and describe in the application other sources of funding for the activity.
Approved applicants must submit an After-Action Report within 60 days of completing the activity.
Grant funds are made available as a reimbursement once registration and payment for the activity have been confirmed. Alternative arrangements are possible on a case-by-case basis as determined by the Treasurer.
Receipts are required and may be submitted before or with the After-Action Report.
Applicants in need of special accommodations should work with their Mentor or Sponsor to determine what support would be helpful.
